ITINERARY:
Beijing - Arrival (-/L/D)
DAY 1 Arrival in Beijing, walk on Tian An Men Square and visit the Temple of Heaven before dinner. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at hotel.
Beijing (B/L/D)
DAY 2 Breakfast at hotel. Full day excursion to the Great Wall at Si Ma Tai section (2.5 hours drive) which is called the most exciting part of the Great Wall. Picnic lunch in Sima Tai and transfer to the world heritage site: Qing Tombs (2 hours drive) visit Sacred Road, Big Arch Way, palace under the earth, which belong to Emperor Qian Long, the magnificent sculpture and great wood hall is worth visiting. Transfer back to Beijing (2 hours drive) and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Beijing (B/L/D)
DAY 3 Breakfast at hotel. In the morning visit the Forbidden City and its Imperial Museum. Walk up Coal Hill, from where you will enjoy a beautiful view over Beijing. After lunch, enjoy a rickshaw tour in the old quarters, in the heart of the hutong area, small lanes of old Beijing. Visit The Lama and Confucius Temples. Lunch at local restaurant. In the evening, enjoy a Beijing Roast Duck dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Beijing - Xian (B/L/D)
DAY 4 Breakfast at hotel. Visit the Summer Palace Garden and the covered gallery along the Kunming Lake. In the afternoon, take a tour of Temple of Heaven with its outstanding round shape, covered by an exquisite triple roof of blue tiles. This is where the Emperor used to pray for good harvests. Transfer to the railway station (Express Train Soft Sleeper) to Xian Z19 20:20 - 8:00 hrs (4 passengers in one cabin, with DVD system for everyone). Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight on the train.
Xian (B/L/D)
DAY 5 After breakfast, excursion to the First Emperor's Terra Cotta Army. Visit the History Museum and enjoy a walk in the neighborhood of the Grand Mosque built in the 7th century. Visit Gao Yue Song’s ancient style Folk House, formerly high rank official during the Ming Dynasty some 300 years ago. This house won UNESCO Prize for Cultural Heritage Protection in Asian-Pacific Area in 2002 and you will be delighted to enjoy a traditional Shadow Play Opera there. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at hotel.
Xian - Shanghai (B/L/D)
DAY 6 Breakfast at hotel. Visit Big Wild Goose Pogoda, Old City wall at South Gate. In the afternoon flight to Shanghai. Stroll in the old Shanghai with its many colorful small streets, Tea House In the evening, enjoy a Shanghai acrobatics show. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at hotel.
Shanghai - Suzhou - Shanghai (B/L/D)
DAY 7 Breakfast at hotel. Full day visit Suzhou, famous for its silk and its gardens. Discover the main gardens: the Humble Administrator and the Master of the Nets gardens. Return by road to Shanghai. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at hotel.
Shanghai - Departure (B/L/-)
DAY 8 Breakfast at hotel. Visit Mandarin Yu Garden. Then to Shanghai Museum, you will discovery extraordinary collections of bronzes, porcelains and sculptures. Walk on the Bund, the famous avenue along the Huangpu River with its buildings of the 30's, and Nanjing Street. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to airport for departure flight.
Our tour prices are inclusive of accommodation in twin shared room, meals as specified in the program (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner), transfers and tours with English speaking local guides, all entrance fees, domestic flight tickets including domestic airport taxes and construction fees, room taxes and baggage handling.
