ITINERARY: 

SANDAKAN - SELINGAN TURTLE ISLAND     (-/L/D)

DAY 1 Pick up from hotel or airport  and transfer you to the jetty, for a 75-minute boat ride to Selingan (Turtle Island). Check into your chalet. Rooms have twin beds room with air conditioning. Toilets and showers are common.

Spend the rest of the day swimming or lazing on ht beach. After dinner, you will be invited by a ranger to observe the turtles laying eggs on the beach. Later the eggs are transferred to the hatchery and if there are your turtles around, you can watch their release to the sea. Overnight in chalet.

SEPILOK TURTLE ISLAND - SANDAKAN     (B/L/D)

DAY 2 Depart the island at 7:00 am for Sandakan. Breakfast in Sandakan. Proceed to the Gomantong Caves (about 2-hour ride), passing oil palm plantation and villages, Explore this fascinating cave, which is home to millions of swiftlets and bats. The swiftlet'd nets are collected for the famous Chinese Bird nest soup. Continue on to the River Lodge for lunch. Check in and free time. Take an afternoon boat trip up to the Menanggul River in search for Proboscis monkeys and other forms of Wildlife.

Return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight in twin bed rooms with attached hot water showers.

SANDAKAN     (B/L/-)

DAY 3 After breakfast, depart for the Sepilok Orangutan Centre. Experience a close encounter with the Man of the Forest? who are undergoing a rehabilitation program to return to the wild. After lunch, proceed on a tour of Sandakan, which includes a Malay fishing village with houses built on stilts, and a Buddhist temple with a spectacular view of the town. Transfer to your hotel or to the airport for your onward journey.

- All boat transfers and tour activities in the park are on Seat-in-coach basis.

- Bright colored clothes not advisable

- The Sanctuary charges MYR10 per video camera.

- Basic accommodation and meals at Selingan Island and Sukau River Lodge

- The company reserves the right to change or cancel should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.

- Within the Turtle Island Park no person shall (except with written permission from the Park Director): take photographs of the turtles anytime during the day or night, take panoramic photographs during the night (between 6:00 PM and 6:00 am) or carry out any videotography or cinematography.
