DAY 1 SAT 20:15h pick up at hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi train station. Overnight trip to Lao Cai in sharing comfortable sleeping compartments of Victoria Carriage (2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment. Deluxe compartment with 2 lower beds available on request with surcharge) - Train departs approx. 21:30h

DAY 2 SUN Early morning (approx. 05.30), arrival at Lao Cai, the border town to Yunnan. Transfer to Laocai International Hotel for refreshment & breakfast. A 2-hour drive through scenic mountain areas brings you to Muong Khuong, a small settlement bordering China's Yunnan province. Every Sunday the otherwise sleepy town is transformed into a bustling place full with various ethnic minorities. Here visitors can meet more of Lao Cai’s colourful Flower H’mong people, plus Nung, Dzao Tuyen, Tu Di and a number of other ethnic groups such as the Thu Lao, the Pa Di, the La Chi and the highly-photogenic Lo Lo. Drive back Laocai. Lunch at local restaurant then continue to drive (38km) on winding roads up the mountains brings you to Sapa. Accommodation at Victoria Sapa Hotel.

DAY 3 MON In the morning, short trekking to visit it’s mystic rock formations (HAM RONG MOUNTAIN), rare orchids and flowers, enjoy the minority show performed by the young minority ladies and man, you also have opportunity to overview the whole picture of Sapa town in the clear day as well as visit the so-called “stone forest” here. Strole down to visit Sapa Central Market then have lunch at local. In the afternoon a 6-km drive to Ta Phin village, lying in a hillside meadow, it is home to Red Dzao and Hmong people. Drive back to Sapa. Accommodation at Victoria Sapa Hotel.

Sapa - Coc Ly - Lao Cai - Overnight Train to Hanoi (B/L/D)

DAY 4 TUE Depart Sapa for Coc Ly tribal market which offers the chances to see H’mong and Dzao minority people in their most colourful costumes. Take a boat trip down stream on Chay river with picnic lunch. Enjoy scenic view from the river and trek to visit villages of Dzao and Tay minorities on the way. Disembark and drive back Laocai.

Explore the Lao Cai Market before having dinner at local restaurant then transfer to train station, where you will board the overnight train to Hanoi at around 20.15 (Victoria Carriage, superior 4 berth compartment).

DAY 5 WED The train will arrival Hanoi at around 04.30 a.m. You can leave the train at 07.00 and will be transferred to your hotel or to airport for departure flight (accommodation in Hanoi not included).
